This module, developed by the IRC, explains the foundational skills of suicide prevention. You will learn about suicide, what steps all direct service staff can take to prevent suicide, and how to use suicide prevention practices with your clients. This course was designed for direct services staff and supervisors in Resettlement, Asylum & Integration contexts who support refugees, asylees, asylum-seekers, and other clients impacted by forced displacement.
Trigger warning: Many of the lessons in this module incorporate examples of people thinking about suicide, but there are no detailed descriptions of people dying by suicide or attempting suicide.
