Why should refugee service providers commit to gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation, or M&E? Applying a gender-sensitive lens to monitoring and evaluation is critical for learning and accountability. Without consideration for gender, our data is incomplete. Collecting, analyzing, and using gender data helps us make decisions and take action towards the goal of gender equality in program access and outcomes.
After completing this 25- to 30-minute module, you will be able to:
- Define key terms related to gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation (or M&E);
- Describe ways to integrate gender-sensitive M&E throughout the project cycle;
- Name the steps of basic gender analysis; and
- Recognize how gender sensitivity maybe integrated into M&E processes in the context of an example program.
This module assumes that you are already familiar with introductory monitoring and evaluation (or M&E) concepts. If you have not yet completed the Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation module hosted on the Switchboard site, we recommend doing so before continuing with this module.
