Understanding Psychosocial Support Groups: Three Successful Models
The event is finished.
What will this webinar cover?
Many communities lack culturally informed mental health services tailored to newcomers. Even when such services exist, barriers like stigma, language access, transportation, and time constraints limit client access. Mainstream mental health services often prioritize those with severe symptoms and have long waitlists. Psychosocial groups at resettlement offices or community locations can offer valuable support while addressing these barriers. During this webinar, we will hear from experienced group facilitators and explore three different models of psychosocial support groups—looking at the challenges and successes of each.
Is this webinar for me?
This webinar is designed for direct service providers, supervisors, and program managers in resettlement who are interested in learning about and implementing psychosocial groups at their agency.
