What will this webinar cover?
Newcomer young adults face unique challenges when arriving in the U.S. during a critical period in their development. Often lacking role models and resources for effectively continuing their education or achieving vocational advancement, these youth benefit greatly from the support of resettlement agencies that receive the Refugee Youth Mentoring (RYM) grant. This grant provides opportunities for youth to connect with mentors who offer guidance through the challenges of resettlement and beyond. In this webinar, we will explore the importance of promoting supportive mentoring relationships with newcomer youth and share practical strategies for creating meaningful and sustainable connections between mentors and their newcomer mentees.

This webinar is geared toward service providers working in the newcomer youth services and education contexts, particularly recipients of the RYM grant from the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
