This toolkit aims to guide board members and executive directors on best practices for board development within ethnic community-based organizations (ECBOs), including those who take part in the Ethnic Community Self-Help (ECSH) Program. This document addresses the topics of board responsibilities, recruitment, new member orientation, diversity, fundraising, and conflicts of interest. The toolkit is primarily designed for ECBO board members and executive directors, and partially for senior development staff; it includes strategies and tools to use to build an effective, engaged board.
