Designing effective virtual trainings and meetings can be a challenge. We’ve all dialed into an online event, only to find ourselves tuning out within the first few minutes. This training will share concrete ideas for designing engaging online events, drawing on real examples created by experts in instructional design. Following a short introduction to the topic, the majority of the hour-long session will center around participant Q&A, with live demos of instructional design strategies in response to your questions. This event will not provide specific training on the use of a given virtual meeting platform, but will discuss techniques relevant to whatever platform you currently use.
By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:
- Consider various strategies for designing a strong virtual training or meeting;
- Name collaboration tools you can use to boost engagement during trainings and meetings, including whiteboard, chat, and reaction designs;
- Anticipate common issues in virtual events and plan strategies for handling them; and
- Incorporate at least one new idea for participant engagement into the design of a future training or meeting.
