Universities can facilitate refugees’ access to their campuses by offering scholarship/mentorship programs for refugee students. This toolkit gives universities necessary background information on challenges facing refugees when accessing higher education in the U.S. throughout the educational pipeline: pre-admission, after admission, and post-graduation. It also provides recommendations on addressing these challenges to make U.S. campuses more accessible and welcoming for refugee students. These recommendations require full collaboration between different players on campus: presidents, administrators, deans of schools, directors of programs, office of admissions, office of financial aid, office of international students, faculty, and students.
