Archived Webinar: Using Data from the American Community Survey (ACS) to Understand the Social and Economic Outcomes of Refugee Resettlement

In this webinar, Professor William Evans of the University of Notre Dame discussed his recent National Bureau of Economic Research working paper The Economic and Social Outcomes of Refugees in the United States: Evidence from the ACS. This study, conducted in collaboration with graduate student Daniel Fitzerald, uses data from the American Community Survey to understand how refugee outcomes change as they age in place.  Professor Evans discussed this study’s methodology, findings, and implications. He also offered insight into the potential for and limitations to researchers and refugee service providers at the national, state, and local level using the ACS to understand refugee resettlement outcomes.
