Promising Practice: Public Transportation Navigation Cards

World Relief (WR) Fox Valley in Wisconsin developed a personal navigation card to help Preferred Communities (PC) clients use public transportation. Public transportation maps can often be complex, making it difficult for some PC clients to understand and figure out on their own. To address this issue, WR Fox Valley developed customized pictographic cards that include simple, clear language to help clients independently navigate the public bus system. By providing customized cards to PC clients, the agency empowers them to plan and undertake their commutes without the direct assistance of agency staff or volunteers.
