Archived Webinar: How to Provide Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed Care for Older Refugees

This webinar examines the impact of trauma on older refugees and introduces the service model of person-centered, trauma-informed care. Person-Centered, Trauma-Informed care is a holistic approach to service provision developed by The JFNA Center on Aging and Trauma that infuses knowledge about trauma into agency programs and procedures as a way to promote the well-being and empowerment of trauma survivors.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Describe emerging issues affecting the health, well-being, and care of older adults with a history of trauma;
  • Recognize SAMHSA’s six key principles to trauma-informed care;
  • Identify new strategies for becoming person-centered and trauma-informed (PCTI) based on emerging trends for older refugees; and
  • Plan steps to advance the implementation of PCTI care in their work.
