BRYCS’ Community Conversations project aims to reduce the risk and improve the care of women and girls affected by FGC, particularly among refugee communities. BRYCS Consultant, Jenny Siegel, discusses the cultural roots, health consequences and risk factors of FGC. She also shares the impacted community’s concerns and needs related to FGC, especially in their interactions with community providers (i.e. medical practitioners, resettlement staff, family members). This project was made possible with funding from grant from US Department of Health and Human Services, Office on Women’s Health.
