Video: Adjusting to Life & Work in the U.S. – Advice from Clients to Case Managers

In the summer of 2019, Switchboard interviewed established clients in Atlanta, GA; Hyattsville, MD; and Lancaster, PA, including refugees, asylees and Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders. The goal of this video is to elevate the voices of previously served clients, giving them the opportunity to reflect on their early experiences in the U.S. and a platform to share their perspective and advice with service providers and newly arriving clients. The video is accompanied by activities for service providers and for clients, as well as a transcript.

The IRC has partnered with Lutheran Immigrant Refugee Service (LIRS) to provide employment-related training and technical assistance. This video series was produced by LIRS and Reverie Productions. Switchboard wishes to thank the clients who gave of their time, as well as the following organizations who assisted with this project: Amplio Staffing, Bethany Christian Services Lancaster, Church World Service Lancaster, Inspiritus Atlanta, Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area, Refuge Coffee Atlanta, and Refugee Women’s Network Atlanta.
